AMERICAN TROOPS
AMPLE SHIPPING AN'AIL ABLE. (Australian-N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received this morning, 1.30 o'clock) WASHINGTON, Feb. 5. Mr J. Daniels (Secretary of the Navy) lias replied to Mr Hitchcock. He says that the United States has sufficient ships to transport all the troops which Mr linker (Secretary of War) announced (100,000). America would send to France in 1918. It is understood that the adminiifitration plans are to cut down the imports by 50 per cent for the purpose of releasing a million additional tons for transporting troops.
