WELLINGTON NORTH SEAT
MR J. P. LUKE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT CANDIDATE. The Prime Minister (Right Hon. W. F. Massoy) and Sir Joseph Ward issued an announcement yesterday that in accordance with the arrangements made on the formation of the National Government, the leader of the party whose mem be i; holds the seat should nominate the candidate for a by-election. Under this arrangement Mr J P. Luke has been invited to come forward for the coming by-election for Wellington North as a supporter of the National Government, and in accordance with this understanding the leaders of both political parties recommend him for the support of the electors of Wellington North
