IMMIGRATION.
'One of the problems that will have to bo faced in the near future by New Zealand politicians is that of immigration. There cannot be the slightest doubt that at tho termination of the war there will bo a tremendous rush for this Dominion from Britain and _ elsewhere. The repatriation of soldiers may absorb the whole of the shipping space for a time, but the transport problem will be spoedilv overcome. What, does tho Government intend doing in the matter of immigration? Wo want population, and could quite comfortably accommodate another throe or four million people. But wo_ want men with energy and a certain amount of capital ■We cannot afford to til low (be country to be Hooded with unskilled labourers and artisans. Probably British capitalists will find moans of Rending out soldier sol Hers with money and experience. This class of immigration would be welcomed bv New Zealand.
