FAIRLY ACTIVE FIGHTING. (Australian & New Zealand Cable Association & Reuter.) (Received Last Night, 11.35 o'clock.) LONDON, December 7th. Official: Fighting on the Soinme is fairly active. There has been reciprocal artillerying in the neighbourhood of Bouchavesnes. in the Champagne district. , _ Our artillery dispersed an enemy detachment north-east of lonxincendornios, on the left of the Mouse. An enemy attack was made on the slopes of Hill 304, but owing to our machine-guns he only gained a footing in ,som e advanced, elements and trenches. . v ' SUCCESSFUL BRITISH RAIDS. (Received La s t Night, 11.25 o'clock.) .LONDON, December 7th. General Sir Douglas Haig reports: We successfully raided the enemy's trenches south-east of Neuville St. Vaast. The enemy's attempted raids westward of Beaurains and north-east of Rowlincourt failed. The enemy is' heavily artilleryin g in the neighbourhood of kaucourt, Labbaye, GMonquet Farm, and northward of the Ancre.
