In the East the Austro-Cermans are making a desperate effort to invest Przemsyl and have captured some of the outlying forts. The Russians, however, are bringing up fresh reinforcements, and are fighting tenaciously. Enormous losses appear to have been suffered by both sides. Sn the West, the French have followed up their recent successes with further captures, and are doing excellent work. The Italians have captured several important points in both Trentino and Trieste and are making great headway. The King of Italy is in the fighting line. There have been futther furious engagements on tne Call.poli Peninsula. The Turks narrowly escaped surrounding the Allies. Zeppelins have dropped bombs on the London docks and wharves. One or two further steamers have been mined and torpedoed
