The Allies have been engaged in heavy fighting in France, and have gained considerable ground. The campaign in the Eait has been sanguinary, and the slaughter has been) immense. The Germans appear to be making a desperate throw. An aeroplane mad e its way along the Thamen, but was pursued by British aircraft, and departed. A sensational ■ statement comes from New York, to the effect that British warships have made a raid upon a German Bay. This, however, lack's confirmation. Details are given of tho naval fight off the Falkland Islands.
