APPALLING SLAUGHTER ON THE BATTLEFIELDS

Although Austria-Hungary has a million men in the field, the Prussians are steadily advancing, and are successfully holding back the enemy s attempts to outflank them in the vicinity of Lublin. Moreover, Lemberg the capital of Poland, is half encircled. The slaughter on the various battlefields has been appalling. Th© Austrians were defeated outside the fortified town of Zauiose.
