(Received Sept. 1, 1.30 p.m.) ANTWERP, August 31. The entiro region north of Deme River is clear of Germans.
Diest has also been evacuated. [The Deme River rises about 12 miles due north of Liege, and after a course northward of about 10 miles flows due west through Diest, Aerschot, and Malines, joining the Scheldt about 10 miles south of Antwerp. The provinces of Antwerp and Limburg are north of the Dome.]
