UNRELIABLE NEWS
LONDON "TIMES" NAMED,
(.Received. Last Night, 7.45 o'clock.) LONDON, August 31. Tho Right Hon. H. H. Asquith, in the House of Commons, was pressed for a permit for correspondents to go to the front, owing to alarming telegrams iiv ycstcrdajfs "Times." Mr Asquith iS aid it was impossible to too highly commend the patriotic action of the press; but the publication referred to was a very regrettable exception. He doubted whether correspondents oould be permitted to go to the front. It might be necessary to legislate drastically if tinreliable war news was disseminated.
