STATEMENT REGARDING HOME RULE DILL. 'DISCREDITABLE DEBATE IN THE HOUSE. i Received Last Night, 10.35 o clock.) LONDON, Sept. 1 (Morning). In the House of Commons, tho Rt. Hon. 'H. H. Asquith moved the adicmrnment of the House -until Sept* ember 9th. Ho said tho Government intended to put the Home Rule Bill and the Welsh Disestablishment Bill on tho Statute Book before the session closed, but ho would regard n. as most unfair to ignore the Irish Amending Bill. He hoped to arrive at a settlement -by negotiation The Government would also make a special proposal regarding the Welsh Bill, in view of the new circumstances. Mr Bonar Law agreed, that it would be a disgrace if a controversy were to be revived which the country would not readily forgive. Mr Redmond concurred, bait said that any proposal depriving the Nationalists of tho Homo Rule Bill would be warmly resented. There had arisen in Ireland a great opportunity for reconciliation. Mr Balfour regretted that Mr Red. mond had not left the matter where Mr Asquith had loft it. It was not possible, nor was it decent to introduce a subject of politcial discussion in tho present circumstances. _ Ministerialists expressed dissent, and several Radical members commenced a warm debate, until Mr Asquith appealed to the House to end the discussion, in view of the necessity for presenting a united front to the enemy.
