GERMANS CARRY ALL BEFORE THEM.
BRITISH VICTORY AT SEA, FOUR GERMAN VESSELS SUNK. BATTLESHIP NEW ZEALAND ENGAGED. THE KAIPARA'S FATE DECIDED. RUSSIA COMPLETELY INVESTS KONIGSBERG. GERMAN TROOPS TRANSFERRED TO PRUSSIA. A BEAUTfFUL CITY REDUCED TO ASHES, [Unikd Vrcsi Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.)' Tito war news this morning is of a particularly distressing character. It Indicates that the German advance has been irresistible, in conswruence of their overwhelming numbers. At latest accounts the enemy was. marching on Amiens, which is an important centre about eighty mile* north of Paris. The abandonment of Boulogne means that the British reinforcements will require to be landed at another port. The battle at sea, in which the British were victorious, is ft bright side to the dreadful picture, and the investment of Konigsberg by the Russians is apparently creating alarm in Berlin. The brutal destruction of the oity of Louvairi shows that tiie Germans are absolutely reckless in their plunderous parsuit. There are indications that the Allies intend adopting an offensive attitude, with view of checking the German advance. Two divisions of Indian troops are being sent to the front, It is estimated that since the commencement of the campaign the Germans have lost 200,000 men. Tho. Belgians have again been doing good work.
