CARTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs W. and G. Turnbulj and Co., Ltd., report having held thenusual weekly sale in their Carterton sale yards on Friday, August 28th, when they offered a good yarding of sheep, pigs, and cattle, which met with good competition and practically the whole yarding was sold at auction at the following prices:—2 and 4-tooth fat ewes, 21s; store ewes, 12s 6d; medium hoggets, 12s 6d ; pigs, weaners, 12s, 13s to 14s 3d; slips, 15s 9d, 16s, to 17s; porkers, 235, 245, 25\s, 265, to 28s 9d. Cattle: Dairy cows close to profit, £7, £8 7s 6d; to £8 12s 6d; springing heifers (close up) £5 ss, £6, £6 lis to £6 16s ■ cows in calf, £4 2s, £4 3s, £4 12s, to £4 16s ;-store cows, £3 2s to £3 lis ; forward cow, £4 10s to £4 18s; weaner calves, 25s to 265.
