The Rev. A. Mcßcun, of Eketalmna, is at present visiting South Wairarapa. Ensign Rixon, of the Salvation Army, was a visitor to Masterton yesterday. Mr J. A. Ross has been re-elected chairman of directors of the Mangahao Cheese Company. Lieut. E. R. Wilson, of the Expeditionary Force, paid a flying visit to Masterton on Saturday. The Rev. S. J. Serpell, of Masterton, conducted the services in the Methodist Church at Eketalmna yesterday. It is considered probable that General R. H. Davies, C.8., formerly of New Zealand, was engaged as commander of a regiment in the fighting at Mans last week. The death occurred in the Wellington hospital last week of Mrs M. A. Johnson, an old resident of Featherston. She leaves on married daughter (Mrs G. W. Williams). Messrs Corran Perry (son of Mr William Perry, of Penrose), and Eric Chennells (son of Mr W. B. Chennells, of Masterton), have joined tjie expeditionary force in England, and are now in the training camp. Miss Olive Reeve, daughter of Mr W. J. Reeve, formerly of Pahiatua, and now Clerk of the Court at Stratford, was married in Wellington on Thursday to Mr "Dick" Harris, of the literarv staff of the Christehurch "Sun."
