THE AMERICAN TEAM

FINAL APPEARANCE IX WELLINGTON. * (By T'ltgrnph—frett Aunriation.' WELLINGTON, Last Night. There was brilliant weather yesterday afternoon for the final appearance of the American athletes, and the meeting on the Basin Reserve arranged by the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. The attendance was in the region of 2500, and the public were treated to a most interesting programme. The Americans showed themselves in much better form than on their previous Wellington visit. Power, particularly, convinced the public with his fine showing in the mile, and Templeton was in" magnificent jumping form. Parker, the sprinter, ran well, but was too heavily handicapped to win.
