DREDGING.
MR JOHN HESSEY'S TOUR
Mr John Hossey, the well kuoun mining expert, hag just returned t Masterton from a visit to a mimbo of the dredging claims in the South Island. Interviewed by an Age representative on Saturday, Mr Hcssoy cave interesting information regaiding some of the dredges m which Masterton shareholders arc Uigjoly interested. The Worksop dredge was visited, and everything was f olu ! d to be working very smoothly. Jhe directors will at the next meeting consider the question of purchasing a second dredge to work the Worksop new claim. After a careful inspection of the Success claim, Mr Hes?J?> stated, that he was still of the opinion that the dredge would prove a payable proposition. The plant was running exceptionally well, and iheio was every indication that the wash would improve from thi* out. lie finances of the Success Ooir.pany weie in a satisfactory position, and the concern was now practically free of <lebt. The annual meeting of the Company is to be held in Masterton at an earlv date. Mr Hessey furthei stated that Mr D. J. Cameron and himself were another dredge to replace the sunken one on the H.T.C. claim.
