During thV afternoon His Excellency the Governor qjid General Godley visited the* camp. His Excellency expressed hi-nself pleased with the range, and the arrangements for" the firing. The following wire was received to-day by Colonel Colljns front the Hon. James Allen, Minister of' Defence:—"l am sorry I cannot be present at the opening of the meeting; to-day, hut I hope you will Tiave propitious weather and a very successful gathering, and that the results may be to the benefit of rifle shooting in. the Dominion."
