A BIG BLAST.
(Ity Tdearaph—Prett Association.) GOSBORNE, Last Night. A blast was fired at Matawai this afternoon, when seven tons of Klastio<r pDwdcr were exploded at tl)'' Public Works Department's qun rry. The explosive was distributed oyei three tunnels, 50 foot in length. Ihe quarry is of hard sandstone .material, which is required for ballasting on the railway.
