Richard Carpenter, who had pleaded guilty to two cliyrpies of burglary at Auckland, and a series of fourteen at Napier, received a senteifee of twoyear?*' imprisonment with hard labour, and will be brought up. at Napier to be dealt with on tlnHjurglarics committed there. When a. young man named John lialstou, who had pleaded guilty to an unnatural offence, came 'up for sentence, the Gaol Surgeon reported* him to be, a sexual degenerate, and inwa.iie. His Honour decided to remand "the prisoner, and communicate with the Minister of Justice ris to how he should deal with the case, which he described aa an abominable one. Thomas Edwards was found guilty of theft from a boardinghouse, and will be sentenced to-mor-row.
