CRUSHED TO DEATH.
A RAILWAY FIREMAN

Jolin William-Shannon, a railway fireman, and a native of Helcnsville, was killed j>y a Frankton train today. Ho was assisting'in tho shunting of trucks, and was in the -act of coupling two trucks, when the enginedriver shunted backwards.. Shannon was severely crushed, and died in a few minutes. He had only been in the service a few months.
