EXTRA GIRLS.
A PROPOSED COLLEGE. OPINIONS AGAINST. 'Times' — 'Sydney Sun' Special Cables. ' (Received Sept. 23, 8.30 a.m.) . . . LONDON, Sept. 22. A protested college where superfluous girls would find occupation in business is not favoured by Sir Thomas Lipton, Sir Joseph Lyons, Sir John Dewar, and Mr Selfridge. Sir Thomas Lipton says the ordinary educated girl is more likely to be contented in business than as a college girl. His experience has been that few college men are successful in business, and the same applies to women. Sir Joseph Lyons considers that positions are rarely found in business for college girls without displacing men. He thinks the outlook suggests a grim sex war.
