PROFESSOR NORWOOD.
AT THE TOWN HALL. Professor Norwood, who opened a three-nights' season in the Masterton Town Hall last evening, has lost none of his entertaining powers since his last appearance here. There was a very large crowd in attendance, and that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves was very evident from the roars of laughter which pervaded the building. The professor had ten subjects to exercise his powers upon, and in turn they were made to, imagine themselves to he musicians, dancers, barbers, roller skaters, singers, etc., and their antics in the various roles proved ludicrous in the extreme. One subject showed quite an aptitude for the calling of a tonsorial •artist, his efforts to shave a companion being particularly humorous. Another was responsible for some excellent step-dancing, which met with vociferous applause. Altogether, the professor showed himself a past master in the art of entertaining and few "shows" with so many grades of humour have been witnessed in Masterton. Miss Winifred Norwood was responsible for a rather remarkable performance while under hypnotic influence, acting at the suggestion of members of the audience in an extraordinary manner. To-night's entertainment will include several new items, and doubtless another packed house will be in evidence. This afternoon the professor will induce a young man, while under hypnotic influence, to play on a piano for four hours. This act will take place in a shop in Queen-street.
