Lie says the parties appear to bo'hardened up, and the chances of a settlement on the ordinary lines fPG not bright. He intends again approaching both sides on Wednesday, when he will submit certain proposals which may got over the difficulty. Mr Hally does not think there is the slightest chance ol a gi neral strike.
