BURNED TO DEATH
{B\i 'Telearavh — Tress Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. A retired sea- captain, 70 years of ago, named Thomas McLean, was burned to dealth in 2ii.s cottage at Birkenhead early this morning. The fire destroyed the cottage, two stables and other structures, comprising, part of Vei-ran and Son's (hostlery yard. The damage i<s estimated at £2OO. The insurances are not available-. At the inquest a verdict of accidental doalth was returned.
