The secretary of the Wellington Educationßoard wrote stating that the Board were desirous of establishing at an early date in connection with its country District High Schools an extended rural course for boys and girls to inclu de domestic science for girls and woodwork for boys. On application beiiig made to the managers of the Masterton Technical School it was ascertained that their woodwork room was utilised for wool-claasing and was ntft available. The head master of the District High School had informed the Board that perhaps the produce room of the Association might be placed at the disposal of the Board, aftar ne.it sh >w. The Board woflld be pleased to know of such a proposal could be entertained Mr T. R. Fleming, Chief Inspec tor of Schools under the Wellington Education Board, in company with Mr Granf, the woodwork instructor attended the meeting in support of the application of the Board for the room. The chairman expained that the difficulty with regard to the request was that after the next show they purposed moving the Produce Hall to the new grounds. It had occurred to him, however, that the dining room in the grandstand might be utilised for the classes. The Associations interest in th 3 grounds ceased at the end of March next, but he thought that there would not be much difficulty in arranging for the use of the ground with the syndicate.

On the motion of Mr D. McGregor, it was decided that the Board be granted the free use of the room under the grandstand until March 31st, provided the Education Board pay any additional insurance that may be incurred. Mr De Bayliss, of the Agricultural Department, wrote suggesting that he thought it would be a good idea of those who had assisted to conduct the experiments with grain plots in this district could be approached with a view to exhibiting samples at the Masterton Show. He further suggested the preservation of the exhibits that they might be forwarded for a similar purpose to Palmerstori. The chairman thought it an excellent idea, and it would make a very interesting and'instructive exhibit. Mr McGregor said he did not think the grain would be threshed by then, although sheaves would be available. Personally he would be pleased to forward his sample, and do what he could to assist in the matter. The secretary was instructed to write to those who had been using the grain, asking them to forward sheaves at the Masterton Show. It was also decided to write to Mr Bayliss for information regarding the place of origin of each variety of wheat used. The Ground Committee reported having met and p; s ed for payment accounts amounting to £lO3 12s 9d. The secretary was empowered to hire the fire engine for the purpose of watering the course at the Showgrounds, at a cost not to exceed £2. The'question of the stock. Fair was discussed, and it wus pointed ot that the date fixed fur the sale, March 3rd, clashes with a rather important sale at Martinborough on that date. It was decided that the date of the Stork Fair be altered to Wednes day. March 2nd, and that it be held Messrs Abraham and Williams' yards at the conclusion uf their sale, the time uf starting tiie Fair sale to be 2 p.m.
