THE BRITISH AND GERMAN NAVIES.
A' COMPARISON. Received February 7, 12.50 a.m. , LONDON; February 6. The "Daily . Mail'' says that Admiral Sir A. K. Wilson's (First Naval Lord) policy differs from Admiral Sir John Fisher's, and lie is convinced that the need of the Navy is not so much Dreadnoughts as armoured cruisers, also that he is indisposed to continue ''wholesale scrapping." Admiral Fisher bequeathed a programme for the coming year, including only four Dreadnoughts. The "Mail" adds that at the end of 1912 Britain will have twenty Dreadnoughts, and forty-four pre Dread noughts, as compare:! with Germany's thirteen Dreadnoughts, and twentyone pre-Dreadnou^hts.
