DOMINION DAY CELEBRATIONS.

VOLUNTEER PARADE AT CARTERTON. (Special Reporter.) The Volunteer Parade held at Carterton yesterday, in celebration of Dominion Day, was largely attended by members of the various corps throughout the Wairarapa. Ideal" weather prevailed and considerable public interest was manifested in the event. No less than six corps took part in the parade, representing a grand total of about two hundred members The starting point was the Reserve, and headed by the Masterton Mounted Rifles, the combined , corps marched to S. Mark's Church. | The parade was in charge of I ieut.Coloncl Tate, and the uniforms worn by the different corps presented a most imposing spectacle. Following on the Mounted Rifles came the Fifth Battalion Band, Masterton, which played a number of appropriate selections en route. Next in order came the Masterton, Groytown, and Carterton Rifle volunteers, and the Carterton School Cadets. The officers present were as follows : Second Regiment, Wellington i Mounted RiPe Volunteers, Staff- ' Lieut.-Colonel Cameron, R.S.M. Collier; Masterton Mounted Rifles, Captain McKillop, Lieuts. Whittaker and Hood; Surgeon Captain Cook. Fifth Battalion, Wellington Rifle Volunteers, Staff-Lieut.-Colonel fate; Surgeon Lieut.-Coi. Bey, V.D., P.M.0., Major Charters; S.S.M McCristell; B.S.M. Morton. Masterton Rifle Volunteers, Captain Robinson and Leiut. Haslam.

Greytown Rifle Volunteers, Lieu • tenants King and Saunders. Carterton Rifle Volunteers, Captain Skey and Lieutenant Hart. Fifth Battalion Band, Bandmaster Hutchison. Carterton School Cadets, Captain Burns The services at the church were conducted by Revs R. Young, of Carterton, and H. Watson, of Masterton, the latter preaching a mo.t I impressive and eloquent sermon.
