RACING. APPEAL CASES. By Telegraph— Association. WELLINGTON, March 29. The Appeal Court of the New Zealand Racine- Conference gave its opinion injsevera 1 cases to-day. Ihe endorsement by the Auckland Metropolitan Committee of the Avondale Jockey Club's disqualification of George Pell (twelve months) . and Albert Whitaker (two years) in connection with the riding of Lucio at the Avondale meeting last September. was upheld. The Appeal Committee, however, considers that the sentences should be equal; therefore each is disqualified for twelve months from December 17th, 1908. The'deposita of Pell and Whitaker are refunded. The Auckland Racing Club is supported in its refusal to disqualify Royal Soult for the Railway Handicap, considering the appeal frivolous. The Appeal Committee' orders the deposit to be forfeited. The judges adjourned the hearing of the appeal of S. G. Lindsay and Mark Ryan against the decision of the Auckland Metropolitan Committee endorsing the Avondale Club's disqualification of appellants and Royal Soult, in connection with the running of that horse at Avondale in September, without indicating an opinion, however, the Appeal Committee directs that the disqualification of Ryan be suspended until the final hearing.
