THE OPIUM TRAFFIC.
HONG KONG GOVERNMENT'S LOSS. SUBSTANTIAL CONTRIBUTION TO BE ASKED FOR. Received March 12, 11.38 p.m. LONDON, March 12. The Earl of Crewe, Secretary for the Colonies, has undertaken to ask Parliament for a substantial contribution towaids covering the Hong Kong Government's arising out of the policy of diminution of the opium traffic.
