(From Our Own Correspondent). Wednesday. / f Some alarm was caused on Tuesday through a resident finding some children's clothes on the river bank. A thorough search failed to find any children, and it was thought for some time that a fatality had occurred. It transpired afterwards that a boy had canied the clothes fiom his home and left thenron the bank. The weather is now very culd and rain is threatening from the south. The local Band is in active training for the Band Contest at the sports gathering to be held on March 17th. The Kaiparoro and Hastwells Band have also pnttred for the competition. The Eketahuna School Picnic is to be held on Thursday on the Newman Domain. The committee have made complete arrangements for the picnic, and the children are promised an enjoyible outing. Th« local Lodge of Druids intend to celebrate the fifth anniversary with a smoke concert at an early date. A strong committee"lr«s been fjrmed to make arrangements in correction therewith.
