RUSSIAN POLICE SENSATION.

There is great excitement in Russia and France over the arrest of Lopukhin, formerly chief of the Russian detective service, and a member of one of the oldest and most distinguished Russian families, on cnarges in connection with the revelation of the double-dealing of Azeff (the revolutionary leader who was also a police agent). It is alleged that Lopukhin received delegates of the Russian Revolutionary Committee in Paris, and gave information regarding Azeff. Lopukhin is also accused of appointing to the direction of the. Wax-saw police one Bakal, who afterwards joined the revolutionaries, revealing police secrets. Seventeen others wei'e arrested with Lopukhin. The Duma has re-assembled, and is interpellating the Govern.Tfieiit respecting the weifare of the secret police, and calling attention to Azeff's duality as agent of the secret police and a Terrorist. The Duma alleges that Lopukhin's arrest is intended to stifle further revelations.
