CHRIS'I CHURCH. BY TKLEJB.U'H riIESB ASSOCIATION. CHRIS'TCHURCH, August 19. At the Supreme Court, to-Jay, John Page was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for perjury. The men aliened to have been concerned in the "&ticking-up" cases of May last appeared for trial to-day. The accused, under tha names of Joseph Johnston, Frank Bolton, and James Keegan. were indicted on three counts with that, on May 17th, being armed with offensive weapons (••evolvers), they robbed from Charles Marshall one purj3, one gold ring, one key, and £5 7a in money. The other counts referred to the same occurrence, reduced the charges to robbery and t) steal from the pi r The accused were convicted on the major charge. A second indictment against the three men, alleging robbery from the person, was then taken, but the case ■was not finished when the Court adjourned.

WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, August 19. At the Supreme Court, to-day, Wi liam Gunn McKay, who was con\i:ted yeftarday of receiving goods stolen from the steamer Blenheim, pleadei guilty to stealing two bottles of brandy from the steamer Putiki. He was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to De concurrent. Henry Mather, charged with the theft of money frmn a till, was found not guilty. John Griffin was acquitted on a charge of indecent assault. John Griffin was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment for knowingly receiving stolen property. Elizabeth Black, alias Grant, alias Freeman, for stealing £1 2s and a purse from the person, was sent to prison for six months.
