AUTHENTICITY OF WINES.
A FRENCH PROPOSAL. PARIS, August 14. The French Agricultural Department is considering a proposal for the introduction of a Government latiel, to guarantee the authenticity of wines, at a cost to the producer of a penny a bottle. The tax- would yield annually about £140,000 to the revenue.
