The summer meeting of the Woodville Jockey Club, which opened today, was held in most delightful weather—a new experience for the \ club. The improvements for the s accommodation of the public were < hiehly appreciated, and all present '. were loud in their praise of the exer- J i tions of the club on behalf of their patrons. There was a large and representative crowd of people present, and speculation was brisk. No bookmaker availed himself of the privilege of paying £2O each for himself and clerk, but the totalisator results were satisfactory, the sum of £10,229 were put through the machine, wlvch is £2,393 batter than the corresponding day last year.
