UNION COMPANY'S HEADQUARTERS.
NOT TO BE REMOVED. JIY TKIiEGKAMI - I'IIESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, December 4. The Dunedin Star says that the people of Dunedin have no cause for serious apprehension that the Union Company will remove its heaquarters to Wellington. Mr Ritchie, one of the directors, has twice publicly hinted that a change of headquarters is never likely to occur under Sir James Mills' management. The Company has guaranteed to give a thousand pounds per year for twenty years towards the deficiency on the new dock, which means that their vessels will be docked at Port Chalmers. The present workshops in Wellington have proved inadequate, and the interest in the patent slip is natural, seeing that the space on . the foreshore is so limited. __________„__
