He won 22 of the principal N.Z. events while on the turf, and each year his stock has added to the fame of his stud career. In 1905 Saracen was second on the l'st of winning N.Z. sires, and in 1900 he was fourth with 23 wins, representing £2245, while in the season just ended on July 31st, his stock won £3OOO. Amongst his racing stock the following are well known : Antigone, Gladsmuir, Cinque, Hatley, Mataari, .Playfair, Sardonyx, Sarilla, Jolly Roger, Silken Rein, Matakokiri, Bharkeyn.
