SENSATION IN GERMANY.
Reoe'ved Deojmber 11, 11.5 p.m. BERLIN, Deoember 11. A sensation has been created iu Germany by Maihias Erzberger, Catholio Deputy at Wurteinburg, who declares that before a secret meeting of the Reichstag's Budget Committee, Johannes Semler, Na tional Liberal Deputy for Hanover, suggested in 1904 to Goroe, a Hamburg merchant, that be should settle on Fernando Po (an island in tbe Bight of Biafre, Africa), end commence irrigation works,JtbejDeutscbe Bank advancing him £IO,OOO. He then would make a quarrel with the Spanish {Government and also arrange a sham rising. Gorne declined. Semler admitted conversing with Gorne, but did not remember the details. Cuunt von Dembeig, AotingDirector of tbe Colonial Department of the German Foreign Office, rldicaled the story. Great efforts were made to prevent its publication, but the Catholic journal insisted.
