ANNUAL CONFERENCE *ND CAMP MEETING.

The Seventh Day Adventists will commence their annual camp meetng and conference at Lansdowne, this evening, with a public service. The camp is situated in Mr J. Macara's paddook, and there are about fifty tents on the ground. The business of the conference will commeuce at 11 o'olock tomorrow morning, and will be continued for ten days. The daily programme for the Masterton camp meeting is as follows:—s.3o a.m., rising b»ll; 6 a.m., morning servioe; 7.15 a.m., breakfast; 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m., district ministers' and children's meetings; 11 a.m. till I p.orK, conference business; 1.30 p.m., dinner; 2.30 p.m. to 3.15 p.m., sisters' meeting; 3.30 p.m., >Bible study; 5 p.m. t0,,6 p.m., youths' meeting; 7.30 p.m., song service; 7.45 p.m., preaching; 9.30 p.m., retiring bell; 10 p.m., silence ia the camp. Mr S. M. Oobb, the President of the kew Zealand Conference, is present at the oamp, and will preside over the Conference. During tbe course of an inteiesting conversation with Mr Cobb, yesterday afternoon, a Wairarapa Age reporter learned' that tbe Seventh Day Adveutist Denomination has been in existence for about 65 years, and has been established in New Zealand for about 18 years. Tbe regular organised Conference in New Zealand has a of about six hundred, most of whom will be present during the Oonference at Masterton. The headquarters for j the New Zealand Conference is at Wellington, but the Sanatarium, where the Denomination carry out their treatment to the siok, is situated in Ohnatohorch. There ia also a Health Food Factory at Christcburcli connected with the Sanatarium, where the various foods of the Denomination are manufactured, Speaking on the strength of tbe Advantists in Australia, Mr Oobb said that they hai Conferences in every State with a membership numbering several thousands. They had a large medical and surgioal sanatoriam in Sydney, and a college at Avondale, about seventy miles from Sydney, where there were between 200 and 300 pupils studying. At Avondale, also, they had their Health Food Factory. The printing establishment of the Denomination, known as the Echo Publishing Company, Ltd., was situated in Melbourne, but they had another printing establishment in Warbarton (Victoria), which had recently been erected at a cost uf about £5,000. Questioned as to the die*:, of the Denomination, Mr Cobb replied that they did not partake largely of meat, but they used, like other people, butter, milk, cream, grains, nuts and cereals. Altogether, the diet was a very healthy one. While on the question cf health, Mr Cobb Sbid that during thte whole time of the Conference in Masterton there would oe two doctors and sometimes three in the camp. These doctors would give regular leatures on .how to live healthy. In conclusion Mr Cobb said that ho was looking around the Masterton district foi a suitable property ou which to build an industrial school. If a suitable property were found, a start would be made with the building as soon as the Conference was concluded. Several thousand pounds would be spent on the building. Children of all denominations would be admitted to the sohool, which will be the first of its kind in New Zealand. It is intended r.o establish another i sohool shortly in tbe South Island.
