GALWEY CITY ELECTION.
EXCITING SCENES. NUMEROUS ARRESTS MADE. Received November 6, 8.27 a.m. LONDON, November 5. Some oxoiting scenes were witnessed at the Galway City election, which resulted in Mr Stephen Gynn, Nationalist, defeating Captain S. Taylor, Revolutionist. Much desperate faction fighting ocourred. The police charged the prowd repeatedly, and used their batons. Numerous arrests were made. ; Both candidate's demanded legislative independence. The bishops and priests supported Mr Gynn, the successful candidate.
