MASTERTON GASWORKS.

MANAGER'S MONTHLY , REPORT. The monthly feport of the Manager of the Maaterton gasworks, sub mitted to the meeting of the Masteribh Borough Works Committeee, last evening, showed that the amount of gaa manufactured during the month was 1,345,000 cubic feet, as against 1,100,000 cubio feet for the corresponding month last year, an increase of 245,000 cubio feet. The gas sold per meter during the month amounted to 1,083,000 cubio feet, aa compared' With 1,006,200 oubio feet for the month of October. 1905, an murease of 76,000 oubio feet: The gas made showed an increase of 22.34 per cent, and the gaa sold per motor an increase of 7.55 per cent, on the corresponding month last year. The receipts for the month amounted to £539 15s. Daring the month twelve new services had been laid and thirteen new meters had been fixed and connected. A length of new 3in o.i. main had been laid in the footpath in Pine Street from the Villa Street intersection to the Grey Street .intersection, the oid main in the road having been lifted and the pipes utilised in Cornwall Street. A *3in c.i. main had also teen laid from the Chapel atreet intersection of Cornwall Street to a point just, past Mr O. Pragnell's residence. The balance of the pipes required for this extensiou will be available when the work, which ia now in progress, of replacing the 3in and 2m mains in Perry Street with a 4in main, is completed. Witi regard to the application for the extension of the gas mains in Johnston Street from Colombo Road, the Manager recommended that the present Bannister Street main, when available, be re-laid in Johnston Street. The length of main required was 30 ohains, and the approximate coat would be £ls. The report was adapted.
