SLY GROG-SELLING.
By telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, September 14. ftt «he Police Court, to-day, Alice Blair, residing in the centre of the oity, was charged with sly grog-sell-ing. Evidencewas'given'by two constables, who joined the force on the first of the month, that they went to the house on Sunday, and were supplied with a bottle of fceer, for which they paid 3b. When leaving they asked for anuther bottle to take away with them, and this was supplied at the same prioo. Mr 0, O. Graham, S.M., imposed o fine of £SO and 7s costs, and un the seoond charge, arising out of a similar transaction the following day a fine of £lO and costs was inflicted. Sergeant King said the woman had been carrying on the business for years. The Magistrate rematked that this and 'other cases showed that hofcelkeepers were not altogether responsible for Sunday drunkenness.
