CATTLE TRAFFIC.
CLOSING OF THE WAIPOUA BRIDGES. Messrs Abraham and Williams, auctioneers, of Masterton, wrote to the meeting of the Masterton County Council, yesterday, with reference to the proposal of the Council to close the Waipoua Bridges for oattle traffic between the hours of 7.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. They stated that they were quite prepared to act on the suggestion of the Council and confer with other firms interested in the direction indioated. The proposed by-law would not affect them so much as the other firms, but they submitted that it would prove a very serious loss and inconvenience to a great number of ratepayers. The firm suggested that the danger arising from the congested state of the traffic could toe avoided by the erection of a more substantial bridge or widening the road oonsideratly at the point in question* The letter was receive!
