MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A meeting of th« Masterton Borough Ooumil was held yesterday afternoon. The Mayor presided, and there were also present—Ots Pauling, Elliott, Temple, Hoar, Eton, ISwington and MoEwen. An apology for absence was received from Or Morris. The three applicants for the position of Sanitaiy Inspector were present at the meeting. After interviewing them it was decided to finally deal with the matter at the meeting on Tuesday night. It was decided to reject all the tenders received for the layingdown of culverts over the Makora Creek in Queen and Chapel Streets, and call for fresd tenders. The question of calling for tenders for the erection of a gasholder and steel tank at the Masterton Gasworks was considered, and it was decided to call for tenders for the work in Auckland, Wellington, Christcburch and Dunedin.
