CAR ACCIDENT.

On Sunday afternoon last a seven seater car travelling- from Featherston with nine passengers abcard, skidded just opposite Salisbury's Poultry Farm, at the northern end of the town, and turned completely over. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. The car, which was owned by Mr. W. J. P. Smith, of Petone, and driven by Mr. F. C. Reid, of Kilbirnie, had reached the northern boundary of the town, when, in the act of passing another car, it skidded and turned over into a deep ditch by the side of the road. Mrs. Reid, wife of the driver, received injuries to her shoulder, but the other members of the party were only slightly cut with broken glass. The whole of the occupants were pinned beneath the upturned car, but were able to extricate themselves unaided. The owner of the car, who was riding as a passenger at the time, was unable to explain the cause of the accident, it happened so suddenly. Constable Joss was soon on the scene and very quickly enabled the traffic to resume normal conditions. The car was very* badly damaged.
