b i ANNUAL MEETING. 8 j The annual meeting of ■ tho club " | held in the Tuapeka Times Office I on Tuesday evening last, when there t was a fair attendance of members, Mr Botting (president) in the chair. The report and balance-sheet was read as follows : "The season commenced with a credit balance of £3 Is 4d and ended with a credit balance of £2. The membership was 15 as against 17 for the pre'ous .year, but we hope to have an increased membership for the coming sea>;>n. To increase the funds of tho club i .10 subscriptions were raised to 17s (id tnd 10s. Tho courts require to be Up-dressed and to enable" this to' be uone a concert is being arranged to be held Oil a futuro date. "During the season one match was pl.ijod against Milton on the home courts. This match was lost. j The balance-sheet showed the total ' receipts (including credit balance £3 Is ■ld) to have been £l7 Ss lOd. Subscriptions £9 10s and sale of balls £4 17s 6d, and expenditure £ls 8s lOd (including rent and rates £6 ss, and balls £5 18s). Ihe of the club were set down as .£7 ;likl the liabilities nil. On the motion of Mr Botting and ilr Moore, the report and balance-sheet were adopted, The following office-bearers for the ensuing year were oleeted -.—President, Mr li. W. S. Botting ; Vice-presidont, Mr R. C. Moore ; secretary and treasurer. Mr W. D. Sawers ; committee, Mr Moore and Misses Nichols and Browne ; auditor, Mr W. G. Mclvinlay. The following new members were elected—Messrs F. R. Whitclock, W. Smith, T. McDowell, T. Hoolalntn, H. Hawkins, C. Brooks, Misses E. Brooks, 0. Robertson, M. Foster, P. Browne, K. Bowie and F. Ilart. The opening day was left in abeyance. It was decided to hold a special meet- ' on tile courts on the opening day to ' decide the amount of the annual sub- 1 scription. 1 Votes of thanks were passed to the ' retiring committee, the auditor (Mr ' \\. 0. McKinlay), and Tuapeka Times Co. for use of room. I '
