Ofi-AliN iAIND PROPOCB BEPOM. fllessrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows : •We held our usual weekly auction sale oi grain and produce at our stores on Monday, sth,August, when prices ruled as under : Oats.—The market is very quiet, and merchants will only operate at prices which show a decline on late ruling rates Wo quote—Prime milling 2s Id to 2s ljd, good to best feed Is to 2s OJd, medium to good Is 9d to Is lid, discoloured and unso. v.d Is 6d to Is 8d per bushel (sar'.s u.\.ra). Wheat.—During the pasi ,cw days a slightly better enquiry has been experienced for milling wheat, but values remain unaltered. We i.uote—Prime milling 3s S)d to 3s lOd, medium milling 3s (id to 3s Bd, good whole fowl wheat 3s 4d to 3s sd, medium whole fowl wheat 3s 2d to 3s 3d, broken and damaged 2s Ud to 3s per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes.—Consignments have fallen oil' during the pay wx-ek, and the market maintains its iii'mncss. Choice tables fit for shipment are in good demand, large quantities stiil going forward to Australia. We quote— Choice tables (in new sacks with farmer's certificate) to £6 10s ; primetables £0 to ;k(5 ss, medium to good ■W 10s t Q £5 15s per ton (sacks in). CbalL—Prime oaten sheaf is in good demand a nd readily saleable at quotation, while discoloured and inferior chair is in over supply and ditlicult lo quit. We quote—Prime oaten sheaf 13 to JC3 ss, medium to good .62 10s to £2 15s, discoloured and inferior chalf from 30s upwards per ton (sacks extra).

On Monday this week we again offered a largo and attractive selection of skins which were keenly competed for. The (quality of our winter doe 4ins was not up to the standard ol those offered last week, but sold at prices fully on u par with them. Our to]) price was 40.U1 per lb which was top price realised a t the sale. Winter Macks sold exceptionally well also fetching as high as 35d per lb. All other classes realised late ruling rules. Bidding was very 'brisk throughout, and prices realised showed an advance on late ruling rates. Included in our pale this w,uk were some very nice lines of halfbrod skins_ which met witlli keen, competition aucf sold up to Bfd per lb. Crossbred* aliso were in good demand fetching) up to 8d per lb for .fine quality. Xo doubt the recent cables from Home reporting a strcug market with an advance in prices for crossbre.ls had tho effect, of finming values here. Tn soliciting consignments -w-e a re certain clients cannot do better than forward their skins to the Dunedirj market as prices are fully on a par with Loudon values. Quotations—Full Wools : Halfbred B£d to 83d, fine crossbred <7fd to crossbred to f7-Jd, merino Mto 7d. Half Wools ' Halfbred fjid to Bd, crossbred did to 7d, merino Cd to 6d. Quarter Wools : Halfbred Bd to 7d, crossbred sid to 6d. merino 4d to sd. Lambskins Old to 73d. Pelts 3>d to sd.

Hides.—Wo held oun fortnightly sale at our stores, Cumberland! street on Thursday Ist August when we offered a largo catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. Bidding was brisk throughout and prices all round w e ve inlly up to lust week's ruling rates, and in some- cases an advance of i<[ to }d per lb can be quoted. Our catalogue was comprised practically of country clients' and- country butchers' hide*, which were offered in good condition for this time of the year, consequently they were keenly competed ior. For this class 0 f hides we got tfjjd to per lb for ox and 62*1 to 6}i for cows. Wc had no heavy hides nor hides of special mention included in our catalogue, but all we had on offer sold exceptionally well. Calfskins realised up l 0 Uld per lb.
