THE EAEiL OP LIVERPOOL. OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. LONDON, .August 6. It is officially announced that the Earl of Liverpool will be Lord Islington's successor as Governor oi New Zealand. The Earl of Liverpool, M.V.0., is a n } officer (Comptroller of the Household) in the Lord Steward's Department oi the King'» Household. Both he and his wife are seid to 'be clever, but not wealthy. The Earl, who was horn 'in married_at the age of 27 Annette Louise, daughter of the fifth Viscount Monck (an Irish family l )'. He was educated at Eton and the Koyal Military -College, Sandhurst, and he. served in South Africa in 1901-2. He owns estates in Northamptonshii'o and Notts, and has a town house at 44 Grosvenor Gardens, S.W. His recreations • are hunting, shooting, cricket and racquets, and he is 'a member of tho Nav„l and Military Club. His heir is Viscount Hawkesbury.
