THE HIGH COMMISSIONER.
HON. THOMAS MACKENZIE APPOINTED. It is announced that tho lion. Thos. Maekenaio, former representative lor Cluthn, Waibemo, and Taieri in the New. Zealand Parliament, and the present member for Egmont, has been, appointed High Commissioner in succession to Sir William Hall-Jones. Mr Mackenzie was Minister of Agriculture up till Februaiy last, and when Sir Joseph Ward resigned ho was • chosen by tho Liberal Caucus to form the new Cabinet. The -Mackenzie Ministry were defeated on Mr M-asscy's motion at the 'beginning of the present month. It is understood that the Hon. Mr Mackenzie's appointarjont to Loudon is for a term of three years.
