BOROUGH COUNCIL'S PLIGMT. WELLINGTON, July 16. A deputation fronr the Wailu Borough Council waited on the Prime Minister privately yesterday. The Council n ro not directly concerned in the dispute as parties, hut they are affected very seriously by it, anil must ol their revenue was obtained from gold duties. As there is n 0 L'old being won they get no duties, but tliev have to maintain the services of the borough. Exactly what the deputation asked for has not been disclosed.
