Messrs Todd Bros, and Co. report having conducted the following sales at auction during the last few days: — Horse Sale at fieriot on 18-tli kist.— A medium number came forward, but there were very few first-class draughts included in the entry. A few buyers in search of good young clifty sorts were in attendance, but were unable to buy the sort they were requiring. We tfuote first-class farm horses, young and sound, from £35 to Xl 2, medium from £28 to £32, aged and interior £10 to £15. Hacks and harness horses up to £26 for best, Rued and inferior sorts from £8 to £12. Of our entry of 20 horses we succeeded in selling 17 at the following prices: — Draught mares and geldings £30, £34, £40 10s, £29, £15, £11 10s, £85, £30.. £25, £32, £27 10s. On Wednesday, 16th inst., we offered sections 31 and 32, block 111., Benger survey district, containing !)4* acres, 2 roods, 27 poles, on account of the executors of the estate of the late Mrs l'ringle, at Millers Flat, and succeeded in disposing of it at a very satisfuctoxy price. At the same time on account of the same estate we sold a large quantity of furniture, &c, which also realised good values. We have also sold privately during the week the following stock. — On account of Mr W. R. Waite 48 head cattle, 648 ewes, 325 wethers, 60 hoggets, one harness mare. On account of Mr John Pringle, 14 head fat cattle. On account of Mr Alex. Mclntyre. 60 fat ewes. On account of Mr Murphy, two draught geldings. On account of Mr James Findlay 2 fat cattle. On account of Mi* E. Ottrey 10 head fat cattle. On account of Mr P.obert Potts, 60 fat wethers. On account of Mr Thomas Sim,- 33 fat ewes. On account of Mr James Jenkins. 32 fat wethers. HILL.— On September 22nd, at his brother's residence, Blue Spur, Arthur Hill; aged 59 years. BYRNE.— On September 19, at Wanganui, after a brief illness, Frank Hugh, eldest son of F. M. Byrne, Young St., Dunedin; aged 25 years. R.I.P. CAUDWELL. —On September 19th, 1908, at Waipori, William Cauldwell, the beloved uncle of W. E. Cauldwell and'L. Knight, Dunedin; aged 70 years.
