St. Petersburg, July 9. The fourth battalion of the Odessa Regiment mutinied at" Kief, and appealed to the whole regiment to join them, as.a protest against rotten food and the commander's tyranny. Eight armed Socialists looted a spirit shop at Lodz. Four CossacKS pursued them into a rye field, where they fought for six hours. Three Socialists were killed and five escaped, though wounded. One Cossack was wounded.

The Duma's Labor group declared that they possessed absolute proof that orders had been sent from St Petersburg to the police and the Government of Sataroff to fire upon any gatherings addressed by the deputies when the Duma prorogued. The deputies were to be specially singled out, and afterwards it would be alleged that they were accidentally shot.
